A Life Like Yours - Where We Work Employment...The Hatcher Center                The Arc of Southside assists individuals with developmental disabilities in obtaining skills and support for employment that will lead to their highest level of self-sufficiency and integration into their community. We currently operate a light industrial business that employs over 100 people in contract and assembly work. The Hatcher Center provides transportation for the majority of our current employees. Our rehabilitation department serves as the liaison between local and state funding sources to assess an employee’s strengths and vocational goals and then match them to our job training opportunities. The Hatcher Center provides vocational services with students from Halifax County, Pittsylvania County, and the City of Danville. We help students progress toward a successful adulthood. We also operate an outlet store where products produced by our employees are sold. We offer a wide variety of quality products. We also produce custom orders with quick turnaround times.
